Bitter cold can lead to dry eyes

Experts at the University of Alabama Birmingham say using a humidifier can help to restore moisture to your eyes.

Drinking lots of fluids can also help.

If you do venture outside, protect your eyes with a mask, scarf or hat with a visor.

As tempting as it may be, do not let heat blow directly onto your face.

Dry eyes can sometimes progress to dry eye disease -- so if the symptoms persist or worsen, it's a good idea to see your doctor.
