Study touts importance of grandparent-grandchild relationship

As we gather with family over the next few days, new research reveals the importance of the grandparent-grandchild relationship.

A study found kids who felt close to their grandparents tended to have positive views about the elderly. However, children who felt unhappy to spend time with their grandparents were more likely to discriminate against older people.

Researchers say the quality of grandparent contact had a much larger effect on ageism than the frequency of visits.
