New research examines MRI safety

MRI testing is safe for patients with pacemakers and other implanted devices. That's according to new research from Intermountain Medical Center in Utah.

Scientists followed more than 170 patients with implantable cardiac devices who underwent an MRI. There were no reports of any problems.

Even chest imaging didn't disrupt the function of pacemakers or defibrillators.
