Omega-3 fish oil may help people with heart disease

Omega-3 fish oil supplements may be beneficial to people with heart disease, but they may not prevent heart problems.

That's according to a new advisory from the American Heart Association.

Studies show a low dose of omega-3 fatty acids reduced the risk of early death in patients with a history of heart attack or heart failure.

However, researchers found no proof that fish oil protects healthy people from developing heart disease.
