Teen tobacco use down in New York State

New York State's efforts to combat teen tobacco use appear to be working.
The Department of Health finds fewer high school students than ever before are smoking.
A new survey shows the teen smoking rate last year was 4.3 percent. That's down from 27.1 percent in 2000.
However, there is still work to do. That's because e-cigarette use by high school students nearly doubled in the last two years, up from 10.5 percent in 2014 to 20.6 percent last year.
The state says this shows the need to close dangerous loopholes that leave e-cigarettes unregulated.
