Time change can mean change in mood

Sunday marks the end of daylight saving time, which is when we turn the clocks back one hour. The Cleveland Clinic says when it gets darker outside sooner, it can impact our mood.
The most extreme cases lead to seasonal affective disorder, also known as SAD. Symptoms can include trouble sleeping, withdrawal or irritability.
To battle the winter blues, doctors suggest getting a light therapy lamp and using it about 30 minutes every day. Sending time outside can also help.
“What people do is they stay indoors and so they don't get ordinary light exposure,” said Scott Bea, PsyD, of The Cleveland Clinc. “One of the problems is we're not outside enough, even on a cloudy day. If you're outside for 30 minutes in the morning, you're going to get enough light exposure and that seems to make a difference"
Doctors also say creating social obligations can be beneficial for your mental health during the colder months.
