Umbilical cord blood may help solve memory problems

Umbilical cord blood may hold the key to new treatments for age-related memory problems.

Scientists at Stanford University tested the blood in mice. They found mice injected with the cord blood made significant improvements in memory tests as evidence by how they went through a maze.

Blood from young adults had a medium effect on the mice's memory, but plasma from older humans did not help at all.
