AMSTERDAM -- NewsChannel 13 is getting answers on a new assisted living facility on Market Street in Amsterdam.

A NewsChannel 13 viewer reached out this week to ask why The Sentinel has not yet opened. It was expected to open last spring.

NewsChannel 13 did a little digging and found out a grand opening is scheduled for next Wednesday and the health department just approved the facility's license on Thursday.

A Sentinel spokeswoman says they should start taking applications for residents in November. They have 20 employees right now but when all of the 150 beds are full, they expect to have 75 full-time workers.
