Homemade Sausage Breakfast Sandwiches

Jodie Fitz of Newschannel 13's Real Food Fast uses her own recipe for turkey sausage, along with other flourishes, to prepare a breakfast sandwich that's a cut above in the Let's Eat Kitchen.

2 pounds ground turkey

1 tablespoon brown sugar

2 teaspoons kosher salt

1 1/2 teaspoons ground black pepper

1 1/2 teaspoons ground sage

1 1/2 teaspoons ground thyme

1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

1/2 teaspoon ground fennel seeds


Mix all of the spices with the ground turkey. Form The meat mixture into patties.  Cook the parties  in a frying pan lightly coated with non-stick spray. Flip them frequently while cooking.


Eat alone or turn them into a breakfast sandwich with eggs and your favorite bread.

Apple Pie Parfaits by Jodie Fitz

2 apples (your favorite)
3 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon brown sugar
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Greek vanilla yogurt
Granola (your favorite)

Wash, peel, core & dice the apple.

Place the diced apples, water, brown sugar & cinnamon in a saucepan. Cook the apples over medium to low heat. Stir frequently and cook until the apples are softened.

Let them cool completely.

Layer your parfait with Greek yogurt, the cooked apples and your favorite granola. Repeat one more layer and serve!
