Investors hope General Electric's first-quarter earnings show rebound

General Electric has had a rough go of it so far in 2018. Now it's set to release its first-quarter earnings Friday morning.

It could be a make or break moment. Investors are hoping the company is starting to get back on track following massive losses.

Back in January, General Electric laid off 130 employees from its facilities in Schenectady.
