The multi-state salmonella outbreak linked to papayas has killed two people.
The Centers for Disease Control says Maradol papayas imported from several different farms in Mexico are the source of the outbreak. The papayas were for sale until August 29.
There have been 235 people sickened from 26 states. Seventy-eight had to be hospitalized. Sixty-nine percent of those affected are Hispanic.
The CDC recommends against eating Maradol papayas during the outbreak.
If you don't know whether it's a recalled papaya, public health experts say to throw it out.
