Union College finds lock of George Washington's hair

SCHENECTADY - Union College is getting national recognition after a rare discovery.

A lock of George Washington's hair was found inside an almanac in a library at the college. The 18th century book belonged to a general who was a friend of the first president. It was found on top of a shelf by the college's archivists.

No one is sure how it got there. Now they're tracing the colleges' connections to George Washington and his inner circle.
