1994 escapee's release delayed due to housing trouble

A notorious 1994 escapee remains in custody because he does not yet have approved housing. That's according to a statement from the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.

Joel O'Keefe escaped from state police in 1994. The two-week manhunt for him made him both notorious and a cult figure.

He's served more than 23 years in prison and was eligible for conditional release on Saturday.
