State trooper rescues 4-year-old boy from Schuylerville creek

SCHUYLERVILLE - A 4-year-old Schuylerville boy is alive thanks to the quick actions of a state trooper.

The boy walked away from his grandparent’s home on State Route 29 shortly around 8:30 a.m. Friday. He was still wearing his PJs.

A state trooper thought to check a nearby creek, but had to wade in the water to do a thorough search.

He found the boy shivering up to his knees in chest deep water.

The boy wasn’t seriously hurt and was reunited with his grandparents.
