North Colonie-"Somebody is going from house to house looking for cars parked in the driveway, hoping that somebody mistakingly left their car unlocked and it's probably what I did" said Cara Nigro of Loudonville.
Several residents on Upper Loudon road say they were targeted in a string of robberies happening sometime late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning.
"My car was broken into, I left my wallet on the passenger seat and in the morning it was on the drivers seat open, and all the cash was gone, and in my moms car all the cash was taken out of her glove compartment too" said Michaela Hayes.
Both Loudonville residents we spoke to say they did contact to the Colonie Police department after realizing what had happened.
"I did reach out to them and they said they had received a few calls in the morning regarding regarding the ,they said it's been an ongoing problem" said Nigro.
Nearby neighbors say this is very concerning for such a safe area.
"Sometimes we don't lock our cars so we were lucky that night we had locked our cars. So from now on we will lock everything no question" said Caroline Guthrie of Loudonville.
"This neighborhood is so not suspecting of something like that to happen, it's kind of creepy to know someone is in your car in the middle of the night" said Hayes.
Some neighbors we spoke to say the feeling is even worse knowing that so many families are living here.
"Are they watching our houses during the day? It's very disconcerting, especially with children" said Nigro.
