Additional Red Cross boot camps planned for disaster volunteers

In response to Hurricane Harvey, the Red Cross plans on holding more boot camp training sessions for disaster volunteers.

The one-day volunteer boot camp sessions will take place from Sept. 5-13. Each session will last from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a lunch provided.

Training will encompass orientation, on-boarding and an overview of Red Cross relief operations during large-scale disasters.

Prospective volunteers must be willing to serve in a disaster affected area for a minimum of 14 days.

The Red Cross will cover all training and travel costs for those sent out. Below is a listing of each respective session and how you can register.
