Albany Convention Center Authority chairman steps down

ALBANY -- The chairman who has steered Albany’s plan to build a convention center is stepping down.

Gavin Donohue has worked with four governors and two mayors to get the entertainment and convention venue built. It finally opened this winter.

He leaves as chairman of the Albany Convention Center Authority at the completion of 13 years of negotiation, planning, fundraising, land acquisition, demolition, and construction.
