Albany International Airport helping other flights in storm

Albany International Airport was acting as a "port in the storm" on Monday.

Four flights landed at Albany instead of at New York City airports.

All the planes were headed to either Newark, JFK or LaGuardia. They're being diverted because of thunderstorms.

When there is bad weather in New York City, flights often stop at Albany to wait out the storm and refuel.

Crews de-iced some planes Monday morning, but there weren't issues at Albany's airport.

Planes are going in and out without problems.
