Albany police say they arrested an Albany man on Monday after he allegedly stole a cable truck and led officers on a short pursuit.
Police say 38-year-old Antonio Fonseca stole an unattended Spectrum van outside South Lake Avenue near Madison Avenue.
The employee informed officers around 8:30 a.m. that his parked and running vehicle was taken.
About 20 minutes after the call, officers saw the van traveling northbound on Delaware Avenue and attempted a traffic stop, but Fonseca refused to stop and ultimately lost control outside Empire State Plaza after a brief chase.
After a foot pursuit, he was taken into custody.
Fonseca is charged with 3rd degree grand larceny, 3rd degree criminal possession of stolen property, and unlawfully fleeing a police officer.
He was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday morning in Albany City Court.
