Police identify Guilderland bicyclist killed in crash

ALBANY -- A bicyclist died after a crash that happened around 5:30 a.m. Thursday on Washington Avenue Extension.

Police say it appears that 31-year-old Roger Sawyer of Guilderland was crossing Washington Avenue Extension northbound at the entrance of Crossgates Commons and was struck by a car traveling westbound.

Sawyer later passed away at Albany Med. Police say the driver of the car stopped at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
