AMSTERDAM - Another day and another sewage spill in Amsterdam.

An alert from the Department of Environmental Conservation says an equipment failure at the wastewater treatment plant caused more than 30,000 gallons of raw sewage to spill into the Mohawk River in less than an hour on Tuesday morning. That problem has been fixed.

The alert also indicates there will be an equipment upgrade at the plant this year.

NewsChannel 13 called City Hall to find out more about the upgrade, but we did not hear back.
