Asa Stackel co-anchors NewsChannel 13 Early Today and Today with Subrina Dhammi and meteorologist Paul Caiano. He joined WNYT in June 2015 as a Reporter. He came to us from his hometown station WWNY in Watertown, New York, where he was the weekend anchor.

Stackel was born and raised in Copenhagen, located in the Tug Hill region of New York. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from SUNY Oswego.

He has been honored by the Associated Press for his work in investigative reporting, feature reporting, and sports reporting. Early in his career, the Syracuse Press Club named Stackel the newcomer of the year. 

Asa lives in Saratoga Springs. He is a member of Albany CrossFit, and enjoys skiing, hiking, and soccer.
