Attorney: Former Albany Co. Sheriff's sergeant cleared

April 16, 2017 06:31 PM

The attorney for a former Albany County Sheriff's sergeant says his client has been cleared.

Vincent Igoe was accused of violating an ex-girlfriend's order of protection by driving past her house last May. But, according to Igoe's lawyer, a judge found that there was not enough evidence to prove that the former deputy was the driver.

Igoe resigned in 2015 as he faced getting fired after dash cam video showed him tasing a teenager who was kneeling with his hands on his head.

He was also facing allegations in a separate incident of leaving threatening, racist messages on a man's voicemail.
