August 25, 2016 04:53 PM

Ben joined the NewsChannel 13 team in October of 2014 as a reporter, continuing his streak of working in upstate New York cities.

Growing up near Syracuse and Rochester, and as a graduate of SUNY Oswego’s School of Communications, Media, and the Arts (go Lakers!), Ben is used to upstate New York winters and snow (especially lake effect). He loves sports, especially football, college basketball, and soccer. He continues to hold out hope that his Bills will one day win the Super Bowl. Or a playoff game. Really, making the playoffs at this point would be nice. His spirits are normally buoyed in the winter months by Syracuse basketball.

Ben previously spent a year and a half at WETM in Elmira, NY as a reporter and producer, and two years at WROC in Rochester, NY as a producer before that.

During his time in other markets, Ben helped cover a number of significant regional stories, including the bankruptcy of Kodak, the Christmas Eve shooting of two West Webster fire fighters, and the nomination of Chemung County Sheriff Chris Moss as the Republican candidate for Lt. Governor in New York. While he covers a variety of topics, he especially enjoys stories involving politics and education.

In his spare time, Ben enjoys writing and enjoying theatre. He currently lives in Albany.
