Berkshire Medical Center asks judge to block planned nurses strike

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Berkshire Medical Center is asking a federal judge to block next week's planned strike by registered nurses.

The hospital says the union is citing “unfair labor practices” as the reason for the strike. But, under the terms of their contract, such complaints must be handled through the grievance and arbitration process.

The union's one-day strike is scheduled for next Tuesday.
