You now have to be 18 years old to play Bingo in New York state.

The measure is part of changes to the Charitable Gaming and Bingo Law that took effect in the state over the weekend.

WHEC-TV in Rochester reports it brings the legal age of Bingo in line with other forms of gambling in the state.

Minors are still allowed to attend the games.

The law also increases the prize maximums during the game.
