FORT ANN - Nearly 200 scouts from around the area are taking part in a winter survival skills competition.

They compete for points in events like ice rescue, shelter building and fire starting.

After the derby, many of the scouts will camp outside on Saturday night.

This is the first time the event has been held in Fort Ann after more than 50 years at Camp Boyhaven in Saratoga County. Boyhaven was closed in the fall.
