Several Capital Region communities declare snow emergencies

There are snow emergencies in effect in communities across the Capital Region. Albany's starts Wednesday night.

That means starting Wednesday night at 8 p.m. all cars must be moved to the even side of the street. On Thursday night at 8, they will have to be moved to the odd side of the street.

"This is dangerous weather, so people need to be respectful of this dangerous weather and stay inside and not expect that they’re not going to be able to stick with their normal routines," explained Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan.

"It’s going to be at least a day until after the storm ends before we see pavement, until we start to get sidewalks cleaned up, remove snow banks. We just ask for everyone’s patience," noted Dan Mirabile, Albany DGS Commissioner.
