An Albany man is facing a DWI charge after slamming into a gas station Tuesday morning.

It happened at the Sunoco station at Clinton Avenue and Quail Street before 1:30 a.m. Surveillance video shows the force when the car crashed. Police say 54-Lonnie Robinson lost control and sped right into the brick building. Part of his car was left in the rubble.

The video shows the car on the wrong side of the road, hops the curb, sheers off a street sign, and then careens into the store, just missing the two rows of gas pumps.

Albany Police say Robinson had minor injuries. He's charged with DWI, speeding, and drinking alcohol inside the car.

Building inspectors say that section is not safe.
