Sweltering heat greets runners for CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge

ALBANY -- Before the storms hit, roughly 10,000 runners endured the heat. Extra water and extra precautions were the rule Thursday evening at the annual CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge in downtown Albany.

Organizers made sure there was plenty of water on the course and a cooling spray at the finish line. Many runners said they took it easy because of the heat.

First place when to Matt Brooker on the men’s side and Karen Bertasso on the women’s side.
