Checks reveal more deterioration in Housatonic Bridge

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – There’s another headache for drivers in Great Barrington.

Massachusetts DOT officials say further checks revealed additional deterioration and movement in the Housatonic Bridge. That means no cars will be allowed, and only pedestrians are allowed to cross until the beginning of May.

A temporary bridge will be installed while ongoing bridge replacement work continues. The new bridge is expected to be completed by March 2018.
