HALFMOON -- After spending hours fighting a fire in Halfmoon, many of those same volunteer firefighters went right back to work at the fire station.

It was for a pancake breakfast at the Clifton Park Halfmoon Fire Department. The place was packed. The Saratoga County Sheriff's Department Explorers helped out.

The chief says he wants people to see the firefighters at both their worst and their best.

“Whatever needs to be done, they get it done,” said Chief Art Hunsinger of the Clifton Park Halfmoon Fire Dept. “They're out working for six hours at a structure fire, cleaning up, then come in and doing a pancake breakfast and having the community here for six hours. It speaks about all the heart that goes in to being a volunteer firefighter.”

Firefighters hold a pancake breakfast once a month but this one was their special springtime Easter breakfast.
