ALTAMONT -- Dozens of men were cooking with love on Sunday in Altamont, all for a good cause.

The fifth annual Cooking with Love event was held at the Settles Hill Banquet Facility. The event pits local celebrity chefs against each other to raise money for the Schoharie County ARC. Organizers say this event is crucial to keeping the organization afloat.

“These events are very important for the organization,” said Terry Tetlak of the Schoharie County ARC. “We don't get a lot of money. We're Medicaid funded, and the rates continually get cut. So our fundraising becomes extremely important.”

Cobleskill police chief Rich Bialkowski was one of the chefs and he dished out his homemade eggplant rollatini.

The Schoharie County ARC works with local people with developmental disabilities.
