Two other vehicles were traveling in opposite directions along North Westcott Road when all three vehicles collided at the intersection.

Rhe officer complained of severe back and leg pain and was taken to Albany Med for his injuries.

"One of the drivers was taken to Ellis hospital, she was ambulatory and transported to be checked out. Again the injuries do not appear to be anything serious. The Rotterdam officer appears to have the most serious injuries, but his injuries are not considered life threatening by any means at this point," Captain Michael Tietz explained.

The road is open to traffic and the investigation is ongoing.
