Chief Benjamin Wheeler with Lebanon Valley Fire says the smoke alarm most likely saved their lives.

"Another good save by smoke detectors," pointed out Wheeler. "From what I understand, the son got the rest of the family up and out of the house this morning. The son was the one who originally heard the smoke detector going off."

One pet has not been found.

The house was destroyed. There is no word yet on a cause.
