Fire crews battle blaze in Hudson Falls

November 10, 2017 08:50 AM

HUDSON FALLS -- Fire crews battled a house fire at 131 John Street on Friday morning.

The fire broke out shortly after 4:00 a.m. and burned for multiple hours. It was a tough fire for crews to put out. Gusty winds and a power line that caught on fire hampered efforts.

The house is a total loss and the siding on a neighboring home was partially melted.

Four people lived inside 131 John Street, two men and two women. Two of them were sent to the hospital for smoke inhalation. Another was being treated for burns after going back into the fire to rescue a dog.

The fire was the second at the house in the last month. There was previously a shed fire at the location.

The cause of Friday's fire is under investigation.
