WASHINGTON, D.C. - Monday marked the 72nd anniversary of the beginning of the end of World War II.
Community members and veterans gathered for a ceremony Monday morning at the World War II memorial in Washington, D.C.
There was a public wreath laying ceremony to remember those who died.
There were also speakers who talked about what took place on D-Day, and reminded people to keep veterans alive in the hearts and minds of everyone.
