Dog rescued after falling off cliff in Schoharie County

ESPERANCE - A dog in Schoharie County was rescued after falling off the edge of a cliff.

The sheriff's office says it happened on Wednesday in Esperance.

They say "Maggie" was stuck on a ledge about 30-feet above Cripple Creek. The sheriff and a deputy tried to rescue her, but couldn't reach her.

Two men working in the area brought a ladder to the scene. One of them climbed up and was able to carry Maggie down.

Her owner thinks Maggie was chasing some kind of animal before she fell.
