HUDSON – Hudson City Police are looking for four men after gunshots near an apartment complex followed a brutal fight inside an elevator.

Hudson Police released surveillance video Friday night of an assault inside the elevator at Bliss Towers in Hudson Thursday night. The time code on the video shows the assault took place just before 9 p.m.

Three men are waiting in the elevator when a fourth man comes on. The men appear to have a discussion with the fourth man, before they start punching and kicking him. Twice people come on to the elevator and witness the attack, but neither does anything to intervene.

The video from police doesn’t show how the attack ended, but police did say that there was a quantity of blood in the elevator and hallway. Shortly after the beating happened in the elevator, police got a call for shots fired just outside Bliss Towers. Police believe the two incidents are related because they happened so close together.

Hudson Police say they found shell casings outside Bliss Towers, but have not gotten any reports that anyone was shot.

Residents of the Towers would not speak to us on camera, saying they were afraid of retaliation for speaking about the crime. But they told us they heard the shots, and know the people who attacked the other man. They say the three men are all familiar to police and have been in prison before. And they say they’re angry that police haven’t captured the men responsible, saying those gunshots could have hit kids or the elderly who live in Bliss Towers.

Hudson Police are asking anyone who has any information about the assault or shots fired to give them a call. They can be reached at 518-828-3388.
