Fallen Marine remembered in Waterford

WATERFORD -- A fallen Marine from the Capital Region was being remembered Wednesday in his hometown.

A memorial service was held for Maj. Caine Goyette at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Park on Broad Street in Waterford.

Goyette was killed in a Marine plane crash last month in rural Mississippi. Fourteen other Marines and one Navy sailor also died.  Goyette was the highest-ranking Marine on the plane.

He grew up in Waterford, and attended Waterford-Halfmoon schools and RPI.
