Westerlo crash claims life of 26-year-old Greenville man

WESTERLO -- A 26-year-old Greenville man is dead after a fatal one-car accident in Westerlo.

Authorities say they responded to a crash on County Route 401 just after 1 a.m. Wednesday and found a 2009 Honda Civic driven by Nickolas Spain off the roadway into several trees.

Spain was extricated from the car, but pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, but authorities say speed and alcohol are believed to be factors.
