The two properties at 64 & 66 Arcadia had several “out-buildings” behind the main addresses that included some storage sheds and a small house one man was living in. There is also an above-ground pool plus plastic children’s toys and a lot of power equipment.

“It appears to be a trailer and then behind the trailer, there's a small house,” said Michael Romano, Colonie Deputy Fire Coordinator. As for the extra buildings, he said crews “never even knew it was back there till we got back there today."
The Sheffield family has rented the home at 64 Arcadia Ct. since October 2001. The parents and three kids all escaped this morning. An elderly man living behind 66 Arcadia Ct. also escaped.

"Because we don't have a basement so we just did the storage sheds and we had just cleaned my husband's shed yesterday,” said Starlette Sheffield.
