Warming centers have been set up for affected families. The Red Cross is providing them with assistance.

Cohoes fire officials said the fire broke out around 9 p.m. They said everyone inside the home at the time made it out safely.

It’s not clear what may have happened to any pets in the home.

Firefighters said structures on opposite sides of the burning home also sustained fire and water damage.

People in the neighborhood are without power because officials turned power lines off in case the front of the building came down. Warming stations were also set up nearby for people in the neighborhood without power.

Firefighters said the second and third floors in the back of the building came down during the fire.

The Cohoes Fire Department, Cohoes Police Department and the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control will investigate the cause of the fire.

The home is a complete loss.

Luckily, no injuries were reported.

Fire Departments from Cohoes, Green Island, Watervliet, Troy and Albany responded to the scene along with the the Watervliet Arsenal Fire and Emergency Service.
