Closing arguments are set for Friday morning in the Kenneth Tyree manslaughter trial.

Tyree is the former Schenectady city building inspector. He inspected the five-story apartment building at 104 Jay Street in March 2015, the day before the building burned down, killing four people.

Occupants were allowed to remain inside despite a fire alarm system that didn't work and stairwell fire doors that didn't exist.

Tyree was the only defense witness, testifying that he told his bosses he was uncomfortable inspecting a large building without someone else assisting him.

He faces charges of manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide.

NewsChannel 13 will keep an eye on closing statements at the Schenectady County Courthouse and bring you updates on and our later newscasts.
