Corinth fire kills mother of 9, daughter

CORINTH - Two people have died after a fire at 418 Main Street in Corinth.

NewsChannel 13 is told the victims are 39-year-old Tonya Slimmer and her 15-year-old daughter, Briaunna.

Tonya is the mother of nine children. She was about to head to Myrtle Beach to see her son graduate from boot camp for the Marine Crops.

Three people were rescued and taken to the hospital. They include two children who are 1 and 3 years old. The kids are expected to be okay.

The home was destroyed.
