Investigators say the homeowner smelled smoke, then opened the door to her basement, saw a lot of smoke and got out.

According to NewsChannel 13’s media partners at the Post-Star, firefighters had to use a saw to cut open one of the garage doors.

One firefighter was treated for exhaustion.

So far, there is no word on a cause.
