Troy's Flag Day parade ending after 50 years

TROY - The country's largest Flag Day parade is no more.

After 50 years, the Troy Flag Day Committee announced the annual Troy Flag Day Parade won't happen anymore.

The decision was made following a unanimous vote by the committee, citing decreased public interest and participation in the parade during the last six years.

The committee also cites the rapid loss of World War II, Korean, and Vietnam veterans passing away over the past decade as one of the several contributing factors for the decline in attendance and participation.
