FMCC students accused of passing fake checks

JOHNSTOWN -- Two students at Fulton Montgomery Community College are accused of passing fake checks at NBT banks in Johnstown.

21 year old Armani Robinson is charged, along with a 17 year old who isn't being named.

Police say their investigation began when another student reported the two had scammed funds from his NBT bank account. Investigators say their suspects convinced that student to let them deposit checks into his account; they then used his bank card to withdraw money. State Police say the deposited checks were counterfeit.
