Former fire department treasurer charged with embezzlement

The former treasurer for the West Ghent Volunteer Fire Company is under arrest, charged with embezzlement.

The attorney general says Gail Cesternino used her position to regularly withdraw cash, issue herself checks and charge her own expenses to the company's credit card. She was married to the chief.

In all, she's accused of stealing over $55,000.
