Four are sent to the hospital after a crash in Galway

Four people were injured and taken to hospitals around the area after a rollover single car accident that occurred overnight in the town of Galway.

At 12:06 AM, the sheriff's office received a report about a car off Donnan Road that overturned in a ditch, with all four occupants exiting the vehicle.

The operator was identified as 26-year-old Kayla Baker of Ballston Spa, who was transported to Albany Medical Center with serious injuries to her upper body.

The front passenger, identified as 21-year-old Kaila Miner of Greenfield Center, was transported to Saratoga Hospital with minor laceration injuries.

The back seat passengers, identified as 25-year-old Capri Fafard of Greenfield Center and 21-year-old Paige Norton of Ballston Spa, were transported via helicopter to Albany Medical Center and transported to Saratoga Hospital, respectively, for treatment of their lacerations.

Investigation shows that Baker was intoxicated and speeding when the accident occurred.

She is charged with Driving While Intoxicated - a misdemeanor -, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana - a violation -, Unreasonable Speed - a violation -, Reckless Driving - a misdemeanor, and several other law and traffic violations.

She is scheduled to appear in Galway Town Court on January 11, 2018.

The accident is still under investigation and more charges may be pending.
